Baptism of Children

Baptism is the entry into Christian Faith and also into the Christian Community. For this reason all our Baptisms are in the main Sunday Service at 10:45am. All children in the Parish and those with family connections are potential candidates for Baptism at St Mary's, and we welcome all enquiries.

If you would like your child Baptised, your first point of call is the Parish Office. There are fixed Sundays on which we do Baptisms, usually once a month, to ensure all our Sundays are not Baptism Sundays. And in addition there is a maximum of four candidates for each Service. You will need at least two Godparents, baptised themselves, and you need to fill in the Baptism request form which is available from the Office or you can download the Baptism Application Form and return it no later than 2 weeks prior to the Baptism. A Baptism rehearsal is normally held at 10:00am the day before the Baptism.

There is no charge for a Baptism Service as the Church welcomes all who wish to enter the Christian way of life.
