Discoverers (also known as Sunday School)
|Rock's Artwork of the Prodigal Son
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
'Love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these .
Love is at the centre of all we do with the children and young people in our Discoverers groups. We learn about the Bible stories and readings that are included in our Sunday morning services; finding out together what they mean and why they are important in our lives today.
The Discoverers groups meet for 20 to 40 minutes on 3 out of 4 Sunday mornings to have fun and learn together through a variety of activities including songs, games, art & craft and stories.
The groups are:
ROCK Pre-school to year 4 (ages 3 to 8 ) meet in the Parish Church Room at 10.45 am .
SALT & LIGHT School years 5 & up (age 9+) meet in porch room at 11.00 am
The children are important members of the church and are regularly involved in our services by singing in the choir, reading the lesson and sharing what they have learnt with the congregation. Their art work is displayed on the Discoverers notice boards in the Parish church room & the North aisle in church.
New members are always welcome to join our Discoverers sessions, on a regular or occasional basis. If you would like to find out more, please contact one of the Discoverers leaders listed below:-
