New post for
Full time Christian youth worker
to work with young people between 10 and 18.
We seek someone motivated to walk with young people in their faith journeys whether they have never been inside a church building before, or have sung in a robed choir and been in the youth group for years. We have teenagers in both categories eager to respond.
This new post is based in Baldock (a small market town) and Ashwell (a village) in North Herts where we already have vibrant youth communities and youth groups. In addition there are twelve keen adult volunteers and lots of colleague support from other local youth and schools workers. We are now ready to employ a Full time Christian youth worker.
Why are we different?
We want to build bridges between young people and God, Church and community, town and village and open doors enhance community links and broaden the experience of our young people.

Therefore we envisage the appointed person spending 40% of their time in each of the two communities and 20% setting up projects which connect young people of our area and a disadvantaged section of the community. (The elderly? Children with disabilities? Areas of deprivation? Adults with learning difficulties? ... All these are possible! The choice is yours.)
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience but within the range £16,000 - 22,000.
£3,000 annual budget to be spent on Youth activities
On-going training opportunities.
Expenses paid in full.
3 year post to start after Easter 2010, or by negotiation
(September would be possible for college leavers)
